Project Details
McCafferty Legal is advising Hydro Tasmania on a wholesale hedging contract with TasRex, to accelerate TasRex’s development of a new $500 million solar farm at Connorville Estates, near Cressy in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania. Under the contract, Hydro Tasmania will take on TasRex’s exposure to fluctuating spot prices in the wholesale electricity market, increasing the certainty of TasRex’s revenue stream to allow TasRex to seek funding to build the solar farm. At 288MW, the solar farm will be capable of powering around 70,000 homes.
