McCafferty Legal Pty Ltd ABN 42 135 268 398 (trading as McCafferty Legal) is an incorporated legal practice permitted under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW) and registered with the Law Society of NSW. An incorporated legal practice is a corporation for the purposes of the Corporations Act 2001 and it is not a partnership within the meaning of the Partnership Act or the common law.
Michael McCafferty is the Principal of McCafferty Legal and he holds a practising certificate that authorises him to engage in legal practice as the Principal of McCafferty Legal and also to supervise the legal practice by others.
When contracting with McCafferty Legal, you are entering into a contract with an incorporated legal practice which is a corporation for the purposes of the Corporations Act.
Within McCafferty Legal, the titles of “Senior Partner”, “Managing Partner” and “Partner” are used by the firm and senior lawyers to denote their seniority and level of legal experience. Such titles do not and are not intended to signify (or otherwise represent or warrant) that McCafferty Legal is contracting otherwise than a corporation. Further, any such title does not and is not intended to signify (or represent or warrant) that a partnership exists or in any way is formed within the meaning of the Partnership Act or the common law.
Unless a title says otherwise (for example: Principal-Partner), the titles “Senior Partner”, “Managing Partner” and “Partner” do not signify (or otherwise represent or warrant) that the relevant person is a “Principal” of McCafferty Legal within the meaning of the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW).
Liability is limited by a scheme approved under the Professional Standards Legislation.
